IT Field Technician

GDH Consulting is seeking an IT Field Technician for their client located in Artesia, New Mexico. This is a customer facing position that require a high degree of customer service and interaction. Multiple customers with different challenges within a large, corporate environment. The technician will be responsible for providing onsite and remote IT support services for customers in local and field offices.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively resolve end-user help requests in an expeditious manner
  • Field incoming support requests from end users via both telephone and e-mail in a courteous manner
  • Apply diagnostic utilities, knowledge bases and other sources to resolve issues quickly
  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of software and hardware used and supported by the organization;
  • Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications
  • Troubleshoot network and wireless connectivity issues
  • Perform post-resolution follow-ups to help requests

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree, ideally in a technical field, and
  • 2+ years’ working experience in field technical support
  • High level knowledge of Windows 7 operating systems, MS Office Suite
  • Experience with mobile devices, including iPhones, iPads and Android cell phones
  • Networking background is preferred but not required
